Crochet Christmas ornaments scroll down for a free pattern.
When putting together our Christmas tree I wanted to include some crochet ornaments this year. In addition to crochet Christmas personalized stockings, I created tutorials for crochet Christmas tree ornament, crochet snowflake and crochet circle candy ornament. Some of them I put on the tree and some I hang as Christmas garlands on the fireplace.

As usual I try to make my pattern easy and very fast. These crochet Christmas decorations are simple and you can make them in minutes.
I used crochet cord this time, it adds the beautiful texture and farmhouse feel. It’s a weight 5 bulky yarn and the recommended hook is H8, 5 mm which is perfect if tshirt yarn is too bulky for you.

Crochet snowflake ornament pattern:
Make magic ring, ch 2. (counts as a dc)
Round 1: 11 dc in magic ring, tighten the ring by pulling the tail end, sl st to first st to join.
Round 2: (ch 4, 1 tr into next st, ch 4, sc to next st) 6 times.
Round 3: (1 sc into next 4 sts, 1 sc into next st (on top) , ch 3, 1 sc into same st , 1 sc into next 4 sts) 6 times. Finish off and form a hanging loop, weave ends.
Crochet circle ornament pattern:
Make a magic ring with mc and cc holding both color together.
Round 1: 12 dc in the magic ring alternating mc and cc. Sl st in the first st to join.
Note: When changing colors, do not cut the thread and carry it along on the back. The color is always changed with two loops on the hook. So you will change color when completing the last yarn over of the last stitch of previous color.
Finish off and weave end to the top of the circle, tighten in a knot to form a hanging loop.
