What is the best yarn for a market bag?
I used the tshirt yarn from my Knitznpurlz shop. It took two cakes, 108 yards each for the main color and 109 yards for the contrast color. Using tshirt yarn ensures that your bag will be sturdy and last for a long time. The fabric is durable enough that you can use it as an everyday carry-on without worrying about getting dirty or wearing out quickly. Also, it’s very easy to wash!
How long does it take to crochet a market bag?
This market bag is worked in single crochet stitch through a back loop. To add more texture I went with a double crochet crossed stitch. It’s pretty easy stitch, you’ll find step by step instructions for it down below. After some deliberation, I decided on a simple Tunisian stitch for the handles of my market bag. This stitch will ensure they’re long lasting and won’t stretch too much so that it’s easy to carry heavy loads! Considering super bulky yarn and double crochet stitch of contrast color overall it took me a couple of hours to crochet a market bag.
How do you crochet a reusable market bag?
The market bag is worked up starting at the base and worked in continuous rounds. Then alternates between single crochet through the back loop stitch for a few rounds and double crochet stitch of contrast color until it reaches desired height. Market bag pattern looks very interesting. You can use different colors for market bags or you can simply go with one color that is suitable to your liking! The handles are made using tunisian simple stitch and then sewn to the bag. Market bag crochet pattern is very easy and simple to make but the most important part of this whole process is that I used basic knowledge on some stitches like chain, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet. You can crochet a market bag with a different size and color for each person in your family. You might need a market bag to carry things like fruits, vegetables or snacks. That is why the market bag pattern is amazing! Ready to start crocheting? Let’s get started!
