If you’d like to make it more interesting you can paint the wood and create different wooden color shades. I used acrylic wood paint coffee bean color. you can experiment with more than one coat of paint as well to get darker or lighter shade. Also a finishing wax for wood will make you crochet coasters water resistant. All the materials can be found at any craft or hardware stores.

To paint the wood of crochet coasters you’ll need:

  • Acrylic wood paint

  • Finishing wax for wood

  • Gloves to protect your hands

  • Cover to protect the surface

  • Piece of cloth, old towel works the best.

Apply paint into the towel and rub it evenly on the wood. Let it dry for a few hours and apply wax the same way. Repeat for the other side of the wood.
