Free crochet coaster patterns for beginners

This free pattern is perfect for using up scraps of T-shirt and cotton yarn you may have laying around. These coasters are the finishing touch your home decor needs, and a great quick make for gifting—Christmas, Mother’s Day, birthdays, house warmings, teacher gifts, etc.

I was inspired by  rattan woven coasters from The Pottery Barn, but for $59, I figured I could create a similar look for a fraction of the cost. So I created the modern woven-like texture in my design by carrying T-shirt yarn through the stitches of the entire project. This creates a thicker and sturdier coaster than if you used just the cotton yarn by itself

I enjoy various creative outlets — drawing, painting, playing piano, and website/marketing/branding design — but crochet is what really stole my heart in 2015. I design everyday crochet patterns for the body and home in hopes to help others slow down and get lost in the joy-filled, calming, and meditative process of this craft.free crochet coaster patterns for beginners
