Hi crafters, today I am going to teach you how to crochet the spike stitch! This is a great stitch for creating textured patterns. You can use this stitch in your next project or design and give it that extra something special. The following tutorial will teach you how to crochet a single crochet spike stitch. This is one of the most common stitches in crocheting and looks really neat. You can crochet spike stitches of different colors to create wonderful patterns.

Where can the spike crochet stitch be used?

It’s a great way to add texture and dimension to your projects. I use it when I need a single crochet but want something more interesting. This stitch is sturdy enough to hold the shape of crochet items, but does not make them bulky or heavy. You can use this technique for purses, clutches, bags and baskets!

I would 2 sc together. But then you might loose the spike stitch in the decreases.
